Booking a place on a Pansails trip means you book one place in a double cabin.

Bringing your partner or friend is the easiest way to define your cabin partner. The most participants come by themselves though and very welcome. Cabins are shared and will normally be assigned with a cabin partner of the same gender with very few exceptions.

Each cabin has a double bed or a bunk bed.

Some cabins have their own shower/toilet, sometimes toilet/showers are shared.

Please call us in case you have questions about the cabins and cabin assignments.

Where are we going?

In one of the many marinas in and around Biograd we will board our yacht - our home for the next 8 days.

The destinations in the vicinity are so noumerous that we'll decide day-to-day based on mood motivation aboard. Winds are from the NW.

There is a basic route highlighted in below chart. The islands outside Biograd are so close that we will stay flexible and adapt the route.

Possible highlight are the Nationalparks Kornati and Telascica as well as Zadar with its old town and sea organ

Half of the nights we will stay in ports or marinas and the rest we will stay at anchor in bays to start the next morning with a swim from our swimming platform.

Almost every day we'll sail to a new island.

The following route is a suggestion that we will adapt depending upon the wind+weather situation. Cabin charter yachts will usually follow this route. Bareboat charters are free to define their own routes.

  1. day: Boarding around noon, provisioning, overnight in the marina, if we are ready early we get off the dock already after the Safety Briefing
  2. day: A short sail will take us to Zadar. Here you have time to visit the famous old town and listen to the sea organ
  3. day: We will be heading out in to the Adriatic Sea towards the island of Insel Dugi Otok where a wreck of a cargo ship allows for a perfect snorkeling stop before heading into one of the many bays of Bozava, Veli Rat or Saharun for anchoring.
  4. day: Southbound we will be passing many of the surrounding islands towards our days destination Rava or Iz, offering ports, bays and clear water for swimming.
  5. day: Arrival in the Kornati Nationalpark. We'll hop from island to island. Most of them are barren and uninhabited with oasis-like small restaurants, sometimes with docks, called "Konobas".
  6. day: We spend another day in the Kornati for sailing, to see the cliffs, and bays for exploring and swimming.
  7. day: A lot of swimming stops will make our last day feel longer before returning to port.
  8. day: Good bye day: Departure during the early morning.

Good to know ...

Our trip will start in one of the marinas in or close to Biograd. You should arrive there on the boarding day not later than noon. To take it even more relaxed we suggest to arrive the night before.

In the vicinity Zadar airport allows for an easy arrival. (30 mins. drive to the marina, Airport-Code "ZAD"). There are direct flights going to Zadar from Zürich, Stuttgart and Munich.
Split Airport "SPU" is served even better and roughly 1,5h drive from Biograd.

A transfer can be arranged via Pansails.

Taxi-Transfers können arrangiert werden und kosten für das jew. Fahrzeug für einen Strecke:Airport Zadar - Biograd

All other expenses for the ship and aboard are shared in equal parts through a so called common "cruising kitty".
Please keep in mind that you will be covering the cruising kitty's share of our skipper as well!

Our experience is that you will need around 30 Euro/day/person which will be covering:

  • Harbour fees
  • Immigration and fees for cruising permits, customs, immigration, marine parks
  • additional insurances
  • Navigation material
  • Fuel
  • Food aboard
  • Drinks aboard
  • Others

All other expenses ashore as personal expenses related to travel, dinner in restaurants, going out are covered by each participant separately.

Our approach is: Less is more! - You usually need far less than you pack.

Please do not bring hard cased bags or suitcases as there is little stowage room aboard. Duffel bags or any other type of soft bags are most convenient.
Pack everything you need for a beach holiday-
